Complying Investment Framework

Applicants are required to invest at least $5 million in complying investments, which must include:

A ‘balancing investment’ of up to $3 million in managed fund(s) or LICs that invest in a combination of eligible assets that include Australian listed securities, eligible corporate bonds or notes, annuities and real property (subject to the 10 per cent limit on residential real estate). At least $500,000 in eligible Australian venture capital or growth private equity (VCPE) fund(s) investing in start-up and small private companies.
At least $1.5 million in an eligible managed fund(s) or Listed Investment Companies (LICs) that invest in emerging companies.

What is Significant Investor Visa (Subclass 188C)

Significant Investor Visa (SIV) is a Premium Investment Visa Scheme granting you immediate residency in Australia.

With SIV, you get:
  • Immediate residency, work and study rights for up to 5 years
  • Residency, work and study rights for your extended family
  • Freedom to work in and travel to and from Australia without limitation
  • Right to purchase residential property as a principal place of residence
  • Pathway to Australian permanent residency if certain requirements are met
  • Australia’s premier investor visa with preferred approval process
SIV requirements
  • Invest $5 million AUD in a qualifying investment and maintain your investment continuously for the life of your provisional visa
  • Sponsorship from a State Government
  • Live in Australia for at least 40 days per year for the duration of your provisional visa. (OR at least 180 days per year for your spouse or de facto partner)
  • No English test
  • No age limit
  • No business skills requirement

What is 188B Visa?

188B Visa is an Investment Visa Scheme granting you immediate residency in Australia.

With 188B, you get:
  • Immediate residency, work and study rights for up to 5 years
  • Residency, work and study rights for your extended family
  • Freedom to work in and travel to and from Australia without limitation
  • Right to purchase residential property as a principal place of residence
  • Pathway to Australian permanent residency if certain requirements are met
188B requirements
  • If you were invited to apply on or after 1 July 2021,  invest $2.5 million AUD in qualifying investment and maintain your investment continuously for the life of your provisional visa
  • Sponsorship from a State Government
  • Live in the State or Territory in which you made the designated investment for at least 2 years during the period your provisional visa is valid
  • Score at least 65 on the points test
  • Be under 55
  • Have the right experience / Own and manage business and personal assets and investments

Application Process

1. State Nomination

  • Submit Expression of Interest (“EOI”) through the Australian Skill Select Website
  • Apply for State nomination from the Australian State you wish to migrate to
  • Select “188 Universal Account” as the ASIC Regulated Managed Fund Complying Investment

2. 188B/188C Visa Application

  • Apply for 188B/188C visa online in ImmiAccount. You must be invited to apply
  • Application must also contain supporting documentation including source of funds

3. 188B/188C Visa Approval and Investment

  • Client notified of Approval in Principal from Department of Home Affairs and invited to make their 188B/188C Visa Complying Investment
  • Client remits funds to the 188 Universal Account Applications Trust Account in Australia, and is provided with an “Investment Confirmation Statement” of their complying Investment
  • Formal 188B/188C Visa approval is granted upon receipt of the Investment Confirmation Statement

4. 188 Universal Investments

  • A personal RAM Client Advisor will be assigned to you providing dedicated ongoing support
  • Through the unique 188 Universal Account structure you may switch your investment into a range of investment opportunities
