On 7 August 2024, Real Asset Management (RAM) attended the 3rd Annual Private Wealth Australia Forum in Sydney.
We were pleased to have Matthew Strotton, our Executive Director and Head of Real Estate, share his insights during the panel discussion on “Liquid vs. Illiquid Alternative Investments: Unravelling Opportunities and Challenges.” Matthew highlighted the benefits and risks associated with both liquid and illiquid alternative investments and pointed out the significant opportunities in the listed real estate sector due to the current market dynamics.
Our Group CEO, Scott Kelly, and Head of Distribution, Peter Folkes, later joined Matthew in the roundtable discussion titled “Navigating the Falling Rate Environment: Opportunities in Australian Healthcare Real Estate,” alongside a group of sophisticated investors. We discussed how Australia’s aging population, advancements in chronic disease detection, and increasing investments from personal, state, and federal healthcare continue to drive significant demand, creating a growing need for healthcare real estate solutions.
Matthew also examined the implications of these factors on the real estate market, noting that the ongoing institutionalisation of healthcare real estate and the current market environment provide a great opportunity to deploy capital and acquire healthcare assets at favourable prices and terms. This is evidenced by a strong pipeline of deal flow.
