Yeppoon’s Bay Plaza will introduce a host of new stores this year as the centre’s redevelopment continues in full swing. See what will open at the coast this year.

A woodfired restaurant, cafe and bar chain will open its first venue outside South East Queensland when it fires up at the new-look Bay Plaza this year.

The opening for Bay Plaza’s redevelopment is right around the corner, with plans to showcase the centre’s new entertainment and retail precinct to the public in August 2022.

Groove Train, a woodfired restaurant, cafe and bar, and burger chain Pattysmiths will underpin the tropical dining precinct, providing casual dining options before customers can catch the latest blockbuster hits at Yeppoon’s only cinema offering.

The plaza also has a dedicated health and wellness hub, incorporating a state-of-the-art Snap Fitness, Medpods Medical Centre and a brand new LiveLife Pharmacy providing all the essentials in the one place.

The second stage of the development is well underway and owners are calling out to the Central Queensland community to ensure local tenants have the opportunity to apply before works are finalised.

“We’re looking for any local tenants or interstate franchises to lease the remaining available space to help solidify our already strong tenancy-mix,” leasing manager at Real Asset Management Group Abe Crowther said.

“Interested tenants have got to be quick with spaces filling up fast.”

The impressive new precinct has already attracted big franchises such as Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Nextra providing essential retail services for the local community.

Complementing these tenancies will be a range of beauty retailers providing an array of services to meet all beauty needs.

“Opportunities are still available for food and beverage options, retail services and essential services,” Crowther said.

Bay Plaza’s reach extends well beyond Yeppoon and the surrounding suburbs to serve a main trade area population of about 23,000, comprised largely of family households.

The redevelopment will also showcase upgraded centre amenities, an improved Coles Click and Collect facility and a major refurbishment of the car park including new line-markings, shade-sails and landscaping.
